             abstract = "The remote sensing techniques are an important instrument to 
                         analyze the urban growth. Satellite images from different dates 
                         permits to observe the dynamics of urban growth. Geoprocessing 
                         tools allied this Remote sensing techniques has been widely used 
                         in urban studies. In this context, this work studies the urban 
                         growth during 1989 until 2007 of Campina Grande city, based on 
                         images from the Thematic Mapper sensor of Landsat 5 satellite. 
                         Besides that, it is discussed the actual conditions of the water 
                         supply network like a important urban facility in any urban growth 
                         process.",
